Study Design

Established in 2009, and initially only until children were 3 years of age, the APrON longitudinal cohort study has evolved over time to follow children until they are eight and potentially twelve-years of age. period. Participants include pregnant women, infants, and biological fathers. Depending on our funding, we hope to follow the families for a longer period of time period and potentially even when the APrON babies are parents themselves!

The rich data that have been collected is being used by many researchers in Canada to better understand and improve human health and well-being.
